No government official should live at the cost of the state budget. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said this in the interview to Rada TV channel.
Oleksandr Turchynov informed that it is planned to implement the decision on the sale of all state residencies in the nearest time. “The country does not need them, whoever is at the post of the President. This is abnormal when lots of families lack money to buy food products and somebody else lives in a hundred of gold-filled rooms,” he stressed.
The Chairman of the Parliament expressed an idea that it will be possible to significantly enrich the state budget at the cost of sale of these residencies.
Oleksandr Turchynov reminded that the Parliament took the decision to revoke all deputy privileges, having noted that the analogous decision is needed to be taken in regard to judges and officials in general. “Everyone should be equal before the law and act within the law,” he said. “No one has the right to live at the cost of a state budget by referring to his/her status,” added the Chairman.
